Why Don’t I Have Facebook Marketplace?

Facebook Marketplace is an e-commerce service baked into the Facebook site and app which allows you buy and sell items on there. This service works just like other shopping sites out there with the exception that you must meet certain criteria to be able to enjoy it. we’ll get to those criteria in a bit.

Eligibility Criteria for Using Facebook Marketplace

  • You must be a Facebook user with a registered Facebook account.
  • You must be up to the age of 18 years.
  • The service must be supported in your country.

Why you don't have Fb MarketplaceHow to Access Facebook Marketplace

A. Using the Facebook Website

After accessing your account, click the Marketplace link on the main menu on the left side of the screen.

B. Using the Facebook App

Tap on the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) to access the menu. Tap on Marketplace link. If the link is not visible, tap on the “see more” link to bring out more options. You should see the marketplace link now. Tap on it to continue.

Why You don’t have Facebook Marketplace

1) Age Barrier

The Marketplace service is only available to Facebook users aged 18 or above. Remember that Facebook has access to your age info and uses it to decide whether to allow or disallow this service on your account.

2) Unavailability of Service in your Region

Only a total of 50 countries have this service enabled in their region. These countries include the US, UK, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Greece, India etc. If you’re not from any of these countries, you will not be able to use the Marketplace service. You will not even it on your account.

3) Device Type

Facebook Marketplace will be available on all Android and iOS devices with the exception of the iPod Touch.

4) New Account

Facebook’s security protocol disables the Marketplace service from some new accounts to check scammers who may open a new account to sell fake products after being blocked from previous accounts to sell.

5) Changing Facebook Menu

Facebook menu displays shortcuts to features you frequently use. If you’ve never used the Marketplace feature or haven’t used it for a while it’s shortcut will be replaced with those of the features you frequently use.
If this is the case however, you can remedy the situation by tapping the hamburger menu (three-lined icon) to bring up a larger menu with various links to various Facebook features and services. That of the Marketplace should be displayed also.
